We are a team of four computer scientists from India at the University of Bern: Prakash Aryan, a PhD student in Computer Science, and Kaushik Raghupathruni, Vilas Harapanahalli and Vaibhav Motwani, all MSc students in Computer Science. We share a strong interest in developing open, efficient and practical language models that can benefit public institutions. For this challenge, we developed Parlamentsthemen, an open service that automatically assigns both standard and ad-hoc topics to Swiss parliamentary affairs across all national languages. The system is powered by a fine-tuned Apertus mode
